Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for paid timeslot sign-ups on shrtbrd. It is part of our Terms of Service. Each event’s organiser decides whether their paid sign-ups are refundable; you can always see an event’s refund terms before you pay.
Refundable events
When an organiser offers refunds on an event:
- Before the slot starts: you can cancel your sign-up yourself for a full refund, automatically.
- After the slot starts: you can request a refund from the organiser up until 12 hours after the slot ends. The organiser reviews the request and may approve it in full or in part, or decline it.
- If the organiser doesn’t respond: an unanswered request is approved automatically for the full amount around the time the organiser’s payout would otherwise be released (about 24 hours after the slot ends).
Non-refundable events
Some events are marked non-refundable. For these, cancelling your sign-up does not entitle you to a refund. This is shown clearly before you pay and on the checkout page. If you believe there are exceptional circumstances, contact the organiser directly — any refund is at their discretion.
How refunds are paid
- Refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe. They typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
- The card processing fee is not returned on a refund. A full refund returns the full amount you paid; the processing cost is borne by shrtbrd.
- Refunds are funded by the organiser — an approved refund reduces the organiser’s payout for that sign-up.
For organisers
If you charge for sign-ups, you are responsible for honouring this policy. Approved refunds come out of your payout, and refund requests you don’t answer within the request window are approved automatically. Payouts are held for about 24 hours after a slot ends — and longer while a refund request is unresolved — so that refunds can be settled before funds are released to you.
