Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of shrtbrd (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a timeslot sign-up service available at shrtbrd.com. By using shrtbrd you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

shrtbrd lets organisers create events with timeslots and collect sign-ups from registered users and guests. We also send optional email and SMS reminders to participants before their scheduled timeslot.

Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account. We authenticate via passwordless magic link — you are responsible for the security of your email inbox.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Guests (users who sign up for a timeslot without creating an account) are identified by the name, email, and optional phone number they provide at sign-up.

Organiser responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for the events, timeslots, descriptions, and any custom fields you create.
• You must not use shrtbrd to collect personal information from participants beyond what is reasonably necessary for the event.
• You must comply with applicable privacy laws when handling participant data, including providing your own notices to participants if required.
• You must not create events that are unlawful, deceptive, or harmful.

Payments, fees, and payouts

Organisers may choose to charge participants for a timeslot. When they do, the following applies:

• Payments are processed by Stripe. By enabling paid sign-ups you also agree to the applicable Stripe Connected Account Agreement. You must complete Stripe’s onboarding to receive payouts.
• For paid events, the organiser is the seller of the timeslot and is responsible for delivering the event or service to the participant. shrtbrd provides the platform and facilitates payment and payout; shrtbrd is not the seller of your event.
• shrtbrd charges a platform fee of 5% + $0.50 per paid sign-up. For each event, the organiser chooses whether the participant pays this fee at checkout or the organiser absorbs it from their payout. Stripe’s payment-processing fees are separate and are borne by shrtbrd.
• Payments are collected and held by shrtbrd and paid out to the organiser about 24 hours after the relevant timeslot ends. A payout is held while a refund request for that sign-up is unresolved.
• Organisers are responsible for refunds in accordance with the Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Approved refunds are borne by the organiser and are deducted from their payout, and a refund request an organiser does not answer within the request window is approved automatically.
• Organisers are responsible for determining, collecting, and remitting any taxes applicable to their events.
• Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled through Stripe. You agree to cooperate in resolving disputes and understand that disputed amounts may be reversed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Abuse, harass, or deceive other users or their participants.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to scrape, spam, or overload the service.
• Impersonate another person or organisation.

Reminders and communications

By signing up for a timeslot, participants consent to receiving email reminders from shrtbrd related to that timeslot. SMS reminders are sent only to participants who have explicitly opted in by providing their phone number and checking the SMS consent box. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. To stop receiving SMS reminders, reply STOP to any reminder message or remove your phone number from your account settings.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of any content you submit to shrtbrd (event names, descriptions, locations, etc.). By submitting content you grant us a limited licence to store and display it as necessary to operate the service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Disclaimers

shrtbrd is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will be delivered on time. Reminder delivery depends on third-party providers (email and SMS) and is not guaranteed.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, shrtbrd and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including missed events due to reminder failures.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to shrtbrd at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@shrtbrd.com.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of shrtbrd after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
